What is Freedom of Information
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 provides public access to information held by public authorities.
It does this in two ways:
- public authorities are obliged to publish certain information about their activities; and
- members of the public are entitled to request information from public authorities.

If you require Freedom of Information advice, or assistance in formulating a request, please email kmpt.infoaccess@nhs.net. Please be clear that your request is for preliminary advice or assistance, and not a request for information.

Trust publication scheme
Under Section 19 of the FOI Act, all public authorities, including NHS trusts, are required to produce a publication scheme.
This document provides information routinely published by the trust. It is a description of the information about the trust made available to the public. The trust reviews the scheme at regular intervals and monitors how it is operating.
