Pastoral, spiritual and religious care

The Pastoral, Spiritual and Religious Care Department (PSRC) is responsible for chaplaincy provision across the trust.

Our purpose is to ensure that the pastoral, spiritual and/or religious needs of those within the service are met, regardless of specific faith or beliefs.

Our front line work is mainly with inpatients and staff. We also support service-users and carers in the community.

Multi-faith rooms

We currently have dedicated multi-faith rooms at St. Martins Hospital, Canterbury and in the Trevor Gibbons Unit, Maidstone.

There are also a small prayer rooms in Archery House, Dartford, and on the Orchards in Priority House, Maidstone.

We are seeking to ensure we have accessible and good quality multi-faith rooms on our three main sites, Maidstone, Dartford and Canterbury.

Interfaith matters

Every member of the team will happily minister to people of any faith or of none. Where specific religious needs arise which we ourselves cannot meet, we will seek support from trusted contacts in the community.
